What happened this year at Apple Day?

Cockington Apple Day 2017

Cockington Court’s 25th Apple Day was FREE!

Cockington was awash with all things apple with a variety of locally sourced food and drink

There was a range of activities from creative crafts to apple themed challenges and games, while visitors were wowed by children's entertainers and cooking demonstrations.

Apple Day goers enjoyed live music from local bands performing on the stage sponsored by Bays Brewery.

The amazing bands were:

There was also a free bus service from The Strand, Torquay taking visitors directly to Cockington Court to enjoy the fun.

There were over 30 stalls and great entertainment  such as Punch and Judy and inflatables. The Hawk and Owl Sanctuary and an apple press demonstration were also on show.

The hot food stalls kept visitors warm, along with the cider, beer, gin and Pimms. There were plants, apples and ingredients from the Walled Art Garden, part of the Feijoa Project, on sale too.

This year was special as it’s our 25th anniversary so in memory of the founder Brian Carter we welcomed his granddaughter from The Cactus Kitchen, who dished up some amazing food!

While all the extra activities took place in and around Cockington Court, the resident craft makers in the studios were showcasing their creative skills.
