Welcome to Cockington Court

To all our dear visitors,

The Manor House will be closed until guidelines allow us to reopen again.

The Seven Dials Cafe remains open for takeaway and the toilets are open for use.

We are working hard to update our window displays and share the fantastic work of our artists and makers. Most of them have an online shop which you can buy from.

Most of our studio makers continue to make their handmade crafts from their studios but unfortunately they are unable to invite you in. They all continue to take orders online and provide a click and collect service. Please, at this crucial time, support our makers. You can find all their contact details on our Creative Community page.

We will be sharing ideas for gifts on our social media accounts. You can contact us by phone or email for more details of how to order your local handmade gift.

If you’re local, do visit the park – it’s stunning and will definitely lift your spirits. For those of you further away, we will share images of our beautiful surroundings on social media to keep you with us in spirit.

We can’t wait to see you all again soon. Take care, keep smiling and, most importantly, keep safe.

Centre Director, Cockington Court

A craft centre with a difference

Cockington Court is one of Torbay's favourite destinations, combining history with present day through a thriving craft centre and a popular programme of events. The site enjoys a growing reputation as a regional centre for quality arts and crafts.

Set in an award-winning country park a mile away from the seafront, Cockington Court is an historic manor house with over twenty craft studios, tea rooms, walled art garden, tudor rose garden, contemporary art gallery and a popular children’s play area.

Cockington Court is managed by TDA as a craft centre, visitor attraction and creative business space. The country park itself, Cockington Country Park, is managed by Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust

Our Kitchen Gallery has a growing reputation in the arts world as a contemporary gallery space of regional significance, having showcased work by artists of international acclaim as well as emerging local talent.

Discover artists and craft makers at work in their studios. Watch the glass blowers create amazing works of art, hear the blacksmith clinking at his forge, and smell the delightful aromas of the delicious chocolate being made by the chocolatier.

Cockington Court is very much a dog friendly site. We are delighted to have won a silver award in the Herald Express Tourism Awards for Dog Friendly Business of the Year 2016. We request that visiting dogs are kept on leads and under control in the rose garden, walled art garden, stable yard and Sea Change studio areas.

Open daily from 10am, free admission
Studio times may vary, please contact the maker before planning a special visit

Cockington Court Craft Centre is operated by TDA as a visitor attraction and innovation centre to support small creative businesses.

Cockington Court has undergone extensive renovation at a cost of £2.85m, part funded by the European Development Fund, Torbay Council and CABE, transforming the former aristocratic home into office space, craft studios and function rooms.
