How can I get to Cockington by public transport?
The No 12 bus has low floors, enabling them to be used by wheelchairs.  If you get off the bus at Livermead, Cockington is approx ¾ mile along the boardwalk through the Watermeadows. The Cockington Bus is not adapted for people in wheelchairs, but can take folded chairs.

Parking at Cockington Court
The car park at the rear of Cockington Court is the closest to the Court.  You can drive to this car park by turning left at the Drum Inn, just after the bus stop.  Blue Badge holders are entitled to 1 hour extra parking for free. Disabled drivers who are exempt from paying vehicle tax are entitled to park for free.

What about toilets?
There are disabled toilets outside at Cockington Court and inside on the ground floor.

How can I get to Cockington Court from Cockington village?
The main village car park (not owned by the Trust) has designated disabled bays. In summer, when the ground is dry, you can come up to Cockington Court along the boardwalk to the left of The Drum Inn. This entrance is unsuitable for large electric scooters. The smaller village car park, Higher Lodge, is owned by the Trust and parking charges apply as above for Cockington Court. From the village car parks there is a gradual upwards slope to Cockington Court.

What about inside Cockington Court?
The ground floor of the Court can be accessed through the front door. Access to the first floor for wheelchairs is through the Rose Garden although this area is currently closed for refurbishment.

What about the Ark Play Area at Cockington?
The Ark is unique, having been built to be used by children with disabilities and their able-bodied friends and family. The play area’s equipment includes a basket swing, wheelchair see-saw, wide slide for children and carers, water pumps, turning stone and lots more. To visit The Ark, park in Cockington Court Rear Car Park.
